Company Profile

Founded on May 18, 1994 in the city of São Paulo, Cosco Brasil S/A provides services to large industrial producers, freight forwarders, NVOCCs and foreign trade companies, and is currently one of the largest Brazilian shipping companies in terms of volumes transported.

Cosco Brasil’s main objective is to provide the ideal transportation for trade between countries in South America, Asia and the Far East, and other destinations upon request, providing commercial and operational services to all its vessels calling at Brazilian ports. The main types of cargo transported include food products, chemicals, petrochemicals and derivatives, durable goods, equipment, auto parts and components.

Cosco containers reach their destination with just one transshipment. Cargoes to China, Japan and Australia are transshipped in Hong Kong. Cargoes to the Persian Gulf and Saudi Arabia are transshipped in Singapore.

Santos Branch

Since June 1996, Cosco Brasil has had its Operational Unit in Santos. Responsible for controlling containers, customs documentation, ship supplies and other important support services for customers and crews, the Operational Unit streamlines procedures for loading and unloading cargo through its work. With its own headquarters and close to the port, the Operational Unit offers Cosco customers fast information and a modern service structure.

Cosco’s professionals in Santos bring together in-depth technical knowledge and computerized connection and research resources that ensure rapid responses to customer information needs.

Rio de Janeiro Branch

On March 28th , COSCO SHIPPING Lines (Brazil) officially inaugurated its Rio de Janeiro branch, marking a significant milestone in its expansion across Latin America. Strategically located in Brazil’s economic heartland, Rio serves as a critical gateway to São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Goiás, and other inland powerhouses. Rio de Janeiro Branch is further strengthened COSCO SHIPPING’s ability to offer integrated end-to-end logistics solutions — from port to rail, road, and bonded warehousing — empowering Sino-Brazilian trade with greater efficiency.
